MI MAURO IACONOIT ↗

INSTITUTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY AND SERVICE

Public knowledge.
Shared responsibility.

Academic life is also collective work: organising, representing, assessing, and educating. Throughout my career, research has intersected with university service, public institutions, scientific networks, and military service.

Institutions shape the conditions in which knowledge, technology, and society meet.

My institutional contributions take different forms: university governance, education policy, scientific assessment, international cooperation, and the transfer of knowledge to public administration.

These roles are not separate from research; they are contexts where technical expertise can support responsibility, quality, and public capacity.

INNOVATION AND PROFESSIONS

Connections with practice

A PERSONAL THREAD

Service as a
lived practice.

Before my academic career, I served as an officer in the Italian Air Force.

From 2000 to 2001, as a Second Lieutenant, I served as an officer in the Defence Section at Capodichino Air Base. Responsibilities included personnel management, contributing to air-base security, command duties, and developing and maintaining information tools for the office.

The experience left a lasting attention to dependability, organisation, role-based responsibility, and the value of service.
