After studying humanities at the Liceo Classico high school, Mauro Iacono has earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli, a Master Degree in Computer Engineering and a Master Degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II" and a Master Degree in Political Science fo the digital society from Università degli Studi Roma Tre .



He has been a consultant (2002-2003) for the Italian Ministry for Innovation and Technologies in eGovernment in Public Administrations within the Progetto Centri Regionali di Competenza - CRC project.



He is a reserve officer of the Italian Air Force with the rank of Second Lieutenant (OF-1).



He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Communication Society.



He is member nd president (athis second mandate) of ECMS - European Council for Modeling and Simulation.



He is a former member of Unione Nazionale Ufficiali in Congedo d'Italia and a member of Associazione Arma Aeronautica.



He is an alumnus of BEST - Board of European Students of Technology.
